The Behavioral Health Education & Training Council (BHETC) mission is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration through educational entities, and ultimately, behavioral health professional workforce retention and recruitment. CBHTR's BHETC will focus on the promotion and development of an interdisciplinary and culturally sensitive workforce preparation within critical areas related to the state's transformation process. This involves creating liaisons with licensing boards and acting in an advisory capacity regarding educational relevance of curriculum to practice. The BHETC will help in the defining of necessary skills and knowledge that professionals in their discipline should possess to work effectively. Ultimately, the BHETC will work towards creation of collaborative academic mechanisms and measures to foster networks supportive of pre-service, professional, continuing and in-service training. Further goals include the promotion of behavioral health professional workforce retention and recruitment.
